  15. 2 red led's (the more light produced the better), a box that
  16. will not let light in, and red and green wire.

  18. Light from the #1 led must shine directly on  the  photocell  #1.
  19. The gold box i made needed the top of the led's to touch the pho-
  20. tocell for it to work. The same applies to the #2  photocell  and
  21. led.

  54. The 1.4k resistor is variable and  if the second part of the gold
  55. box  is  skipped  it  will  still work but when someone picks the
  56. phone up they will hear a faint dial tone in the  background  and
  57. might  report  it  to the gestopo er...(at&t). 1.4k will give you
  58. good reception with little risk of a gestopo agent at your door.

  60. Now that you have built it - take two green wires the same length
  61. strip  the  ends,  twist  two  ends  together and connect them to
  62. green1 and place a piece of tape on it with line  #1  writing  on
  63. it. continue the process with red1 only use red wire. repeat with
  64. red2 and green2 but change to line #2.

  72. You will need to find two phone lines that  are  close  together.
  73. Label  one  of  the phones lines line #1. Cut the phone lines and
  74. take the outer coating off it. There should be 4  wires  cut  the
  75. yellow  and black wires off and strip the red and green wires for
  76. both lines.

  78. Line #1 should be in two pieces take the green wire  of  one  end
  79. and  connect  it  to  the one of the green wires on the gold box.
  80. Take the other half of line #1 and hook the free  green  wire  to
  81. the  green  wire  on the phone line. Repeat the process with red1
  82. and the other line.

  84. All you need to do now is to right down the phone numbers of  the
  85. place you hooked it up at and go home and call it. You should get
  86. a dial tone!!! If not leave me a message on the modem madness bbs
  87. 516-569-0589  or  try changing the emitter with collector. Oh and
  88. hooking it up to a payphone is a  federal offense and is  illegal
  89. to  put  on  any  phone.  I  recommend  you see your local police
  90. department before doing anything said in this article.
